Departmental Profile

The Registration, Regulations and Compliance Department is a strategic arm of CPN responsible for effective registration, regulation, professional oversight, and compliance within the Information and Communication Technology profession.

The Department serves as a critical interface between CPN, ICT professionals, organisations, institutions, and other relevant stakeholders in promoting professionalism, ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and adherence to established standards.

It administers professional registration and related regulatory processes, maintains accurate professional records, monitors compliance with applicable requirements, and supports enforcement of professional standards.

Departmental Objectives

Ensure efficient and transparent registration of eligible ICT professionals and relevant entities.
Maintain accurate, secure, and up-to-date records of registered professionals and regulated entities.
Promote compliance with professional, regulatory, ethical, and operational requirements.
Develop, review, and implement relevant regulatory policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
Monitor professional and organisational compliance with established regulatory requirements.
Strengthen mechanisms for identifying and addressing professional and regulatory breaches.
Improve access to registration and regulatory services through digital transformation and process automation.
Support public confidence and trust in ICT professionals and services.

Key Functions

Registration and maintenance of records of ICT professionals and regulated entities.
Processing applications for registration, renewal, upgrading, and related professional regulatory services.
Monitoring compliance with applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
Conducting regulatory reviews, inspections, assessments, and compliance monitoring activities.
Escalating cases of non-compliance or professional misconduct in line with approved procedures.
Maintaining reliable databases and records to support regulatory reporting and decision-making.
Preparing regulatory reports, compliance reports, statistics, and management briefs.
