Dr Yinka Oyerinde is an Associate Professor of Information Systems & Artificial Intelligence with the University of Jos. An Avid AI for Development (AI4D) Researcher and experienced Digital Transformation Specialist, he holds a PhD in Information Systems from the Prestigious University of South Africa (UNISA). With over 20 years of experience in developing, implementing and monitoring various digital learning and digital pedagogy initiatives, Dr Oyerinde’s research interests are particularly aligned to AI and use of technology in providing public value with respect to government institutions, efficiency and productivity of public sector institutions, initiatives and policies as it relates to human socioeconomic development. Dr Oyerinde is the Deputy Director, Unijos Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center; Head, Unijos AI & Robotics Laboratory; Head, Department of Computer Information Systems and PI of the Digital Transformation and AI Research Cluster of the Faculty of Computing, University of Jos. He is the Zonal Coordinator & Representative to the CPN Council of the North Central Zone of the Nigeria Computer Society and the AI and Digital Transformation Specialist (Consultant) to the UNESCO National Office, Abuja where he supports UNESCO and Federal Ministry of Education in various digital transformation projects.
Dr Oyerinde is a member of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals (Registration Council of) Nigeria (CPN), Practical Artificial Intelligence Development Foundation (PAIDeF), Association for Information Systems (AIS), United Kingdom Academy for Information Systems (UKAIS), Internet Society (ISOC) & the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).
